Toretsk, in the Donetsk Region of Ukraine, is a small miner’s town that was founded in 1836. In 2014, its population was approximately 50,000 with about 8,325 children in schools and preschools. Today, 638 children remain in Toretsk, living in deplorable conditions but unable to leave due to sick parents, lack of money, or because they are now orphans being cared for by their elderly grandparents.
For Toretsk, we are raising money for generators to provide light, heat, and power for water pumps to the families with children left behind.
